Our Story

Every company has a beginning, including us. Tempesta Media was founded in January 2011, with a goal to provide businesses with viable, effective, and scalable content marketing solutions that drive results.

2008

Tempesta Media’s predecessor, Pareto Media Networks, is founded by Michael and Elena Marchese. The company focuses on domain development technology.

2010

Pareto Media Networks’ technology is folded into newly-formed Tempesta Media, creating the basis of Tempesta Media’s content marketing platform.
Tempesta Media’s legacy domain development platform is named a DOMAINfest PITCHfest finalist.

2011

The new content marketing platform alpha launches with 14 content creators – several of whom are still with the company today.
Later this year new content marketing platform beta launches.

2012

More than 5,000 writers are onboarded.
Tempesta Media joins a dozen other startups, including SpotHero, as some of the first accepted companies into 1871, Chicago’s newly-formed technology incubator.

2013

Tempesta Media raises its first outside capital.
Tempesta Media formally launches its content marketing platform.

2015

The writer network is now 11,000+.

2016

A world-class advisory board is recruited, including the former SVP of Reuters, the former CEO of Moore Corporation, and the former CMO of Leapfrog Online.

2018

Tempesta Media becomes a three-time Chicago Innovation Awards nominee.
Tempesta Media is named a top 10 startup by the FUND Conference, beating out over 200 other fast-growing, early-stage companies.

2019

The company headquarters moves from Chicago to Michigan City, Indiana.
Tempesta Media raises its first formal round of equity capital, with industry veterans including Howard Tullman participating.

2020

Tempesta Media launches curated social posting feature.

2021

Tempesta Media launches Simple Social Share™.

2022

Tempesta Media launched Employee Advocacy Program (EAP) module, the latest addition to it’s influencer marketing capabilities.

Tempesta Media was awarded by the Economic Development Corporation of Michigan City (EDCMC) for its business investment in the city.
