Prospect newsletter is an excellent way to educate your prospects about your company, move them through your sales funnel and ultimately get them to convert into happy customers.
What’s a newsletter and why is it important?
A newsletter consists of a couple of pieces of content and it’s basically what the name implies: a mini-newspaper that goes out to a target audience. And that target audience can be prospective customers, existing customers or other stakeholders.
Newsletters are important because they’re a great way of implementing a one-to-many marketing program and getting your message out there to the appropriate audience. It’s one of the most effective mechanisms within the content marketing arsenal, and it is one that every company should be implementing.
When and how to use a newsletter
Newsletters are appropriate for many different stakeholders. For this article, we’re going to focus on customers and prospects newsletters. These are all important reasons why and how you should use a newsletter:
Prospects. In this case, you want to use a newsletter to gradually educate a prospect about your solution, why it’s important, and how it is going to drive value and other benefits.
Customers. A newsletter is great for sharing new capabilities and features, answering questions that one or more of your customers may have, and building and maintaining a relationship with them.
Now let’s talk a little bit about implementing the newsletter. If you are like many other small business owners, you’re probably using Wix, WordPress, HubSpot or something comparable to power your website.
For WordPress users, there are multiple plugins where you can implement a newsletter. MailChimp has a great plug that can be coordinated and implemented within WordPress as well. HubSpot also has capabilities that allow you to send out what they call emails, but which are essentially your newsletters, to your prospects. It’s a module as part of their marketing module, regardless of the solution you use, incorporate a newsletter as part of your overall content and digital marketing program.
Not implementing a prospect newsletter is like removing a critical part of your content marketing program, and without it, your overall program’s performance is impaired. Do not cause your company to lose out on the opportunity to drive additional sales through content marketing. Achieve better results not just with the newsletter, but with your overall content and digital marketing program.
